Emphasis
John Everett has over twenty years of broad
environmental compliance, engineering, and
management experience. In addition to being a
licensed attorney, he is also a registered
professional engineer. His legal and professional
consulting practice focuses on environmental and
natural resources law, compliance, and
administrative law. Currently, Mr. Everett also
serves as Special Master for the Federal District
Court in the Northern District of Oklahoma to
implement the settlement agreement in a major
watershed environmental case.
Clients
& Matters
Mr. Everett’s professional work began in natural and
environmental sciences for an oil and gas production
company. He worked for five years as a regulatory
compliance and permitting officer for an
environmental agency. He has extensive permitting
and regulatory compliance experience and expertise
with federal statutes and state equivalents under
RCRA, CERCLA, CAA, CWA, SDWA, and OSHA. He also has
extensive experience negotiating, planning, and
implementing investigations and corrective actions
as required by agencies such as the EPA, DOT, FERC,
NRC, OSHA, and numerous state agencies and
corporation commissions. His practice also includes
engineering related law, environmental management
systems, natural resources litigation, right-of-way
acquisition, environmental investigation,
indemnification agreements related to mergers and
acquisitions, oil and gas, and commercial
development, property law, and health and safety
audits.
Representative matters have included oil and gas
production, refineries, Fortune 500 manufacturers,
chemical blending facilities, aerospace and aviation
production and operations, state agencies, municipal
authorities, and private entities. He is also a
former Peace Corps Volunteer working on
international environmental assessments, and
consults on international environmental and
engineering projects.
